Variations of the Form

The design of the individual pieces had to perform on multiple levels. On one hand, each piece had to be designed to toggle properly at the appropriate temperature while, on the other hand, apply enough shade to significantly reduce the amount of solar heat gain throughout the day.

Shape Studies

After years of study and a reduction of the design to its simplest and geometrically-appealing form, we have found a way to abstract the feeling of butterflies or leaves on a tree fluttering in the wind. The result is a biophilic sensation.
